Erin and Brandon

Ok , so this is just a sneak peek because I am so crazy about these images that I may have to share a few more soon!! When Erin and Brandon told me that they wanted to do a 1940's themed session I was ecstatic! This was right up my ally. I love making the world look a little more romantic like the movies and what a great era to draw upon! Brandon is actually in the Navy and since this session has been deployed. The 40s may be in the distant past, but as Erin and all the military fiances and wives know, saying goodbye to the man you love to serve his country is never easy no matter the era in which you live. I am so excited to be photographing Erin and Brandon's wedding next year which also has a 40s theme! I look forward to the wedding which I am sure will be just as unique as their engagement photos.

Noel and Dan

July 11, 2010 was a lovely day for a wedding at Franklin Park Conservatory! Butterflies, a couple in love and Spagio dessert...what a perfect day! I have to share with you one of the readings that Noel and Dan chose for their ceremony. It's childlike simplicity brought tears to my eyes. It is a song that offers such a sweet, uncomplicated explanation of love.
The author? None other than Mr. Fred Rodgers.

It's you I like,
It's not the things you wear,
It's not the way you do your hair--
But it's you I like.
The way you are right now,
The way down deep inside you--
Not the things that hide you,
Not your toys--
They're just beside you.

But it's you I like--
Every part of you,
Your skin, your eyes, your feelings
Whether old or new.
I hope that you'll remember
Even when you're feeling blue
That it's you I like,
It's you yourself,
It's you, it's you I like.

Congratulations Noel and Dan!

Hole in one!

This little guy is so cute, but, boy, is he serious about golf! I had the chance to watch him in action a couple of weeks ago. As I know nothing about golf, I would like to thank his instructor and mom and dad for baring with my lack of golf knowledge. Apparently, "do that thingy again" is not a golf term of any kind:) How amazing to see talent bloom from children. And this guy is bursting with talent. I wish all his golf dreams to come true!

Actor Ben Sostrom

I had the pleasure of taking Ben's headshots on what was one of the hottest days of the year! He was such a good sport trudging around the Short North to find the perfect light. He did his best not to melt in the heat. Congratulations Ben on signing with Heyman Talent and for earning your degree from Ohio State! Break a leg!

Justene and Will

What a laid back, cool couple! Justene and Will met at Belmont College in Nashville and fell in love. They managed to make it back to Columbus long enough for their engagement session. We had a lot of fun walking around Clintonville. Justene is a singer so I loved the idea of using the musical scale background. And despite the fact that I could not make an even sided heart (Justene had to intervene) and that I put them in the weeds of Whetstone Park where I was bit seven times in less than three minutes, we had a great time:) I am so excited to photograph their wedding next May. Congrats you two!!
